David Eugene Thomson, age 45, died Tuesday, July 15, 2003, at his home in Austin.

He was born Oct. 7, 1957, to Carlton and Muriel (Glenna) Thomson in Austin. Dave attended Austin Schools. He married Alice Lamb on April 11, 1987, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Brownsdale. They were later divorced.

Employers included Farmstead Foods and Streaters in Albert Lea and the Austin Daily Herald. A former member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Dave enjoyed fishing, camping, playing pool and carpentry.

Survivors include his son, Anthony “Tony” Thomson of Brownsdale; parents: Carlton and Muriel Thomson of Austin; brothers: James (Patricia) Thomson of Glendale, Wis., Robert (Kathy) Thomson of North Richland Hills, Texas, and John (Sarah) Thomson of Burnsville; sister, Barbara (Todd) Anderson of Austin; nine nieces/nephews; four great-nieces/nephews; and former wife, Alice Cross of Brownsdale.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, and one sister, Patricia Joan Thomson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 19, at Worlein Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Seibert officiating. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin, and one hour before the service. Interment is at Grandview Cemetery.
