BYRON &045; The Glenville-Emmons American Legion baseball team had a lot of baserunners in scoring position, but most of them stayed there.
Key hits were tough to come by Tuesday night as G-E lost 7-3 at Byron.
&uot;We only had three hits, but we received nine walks &045; we just couldn’t get any hits with runners in scoring position, and that was pretty much the summary of the game,&uot; said coach Louie Toulouse.
While the home team scored in the second through sixth innings, G-E didn’t get on the board until the top of the seventh.
Mike Yocom had two of the three hits for G-E, also driving in a run. Isaiah Parry had a hit and two RBIs.
Greibrok gave up four earned runs in five innings, with one walk and seven strikeouts. Yocom pitched the sixth, giving up two earned runs on three hits; he walked two and fanned two.
G-E hosts the Albert Lea VFW at 7:30 Monday at Emmons.
