The Albert Lea U-11 girls’ soccer team traveled to Apple Valley and came home with a 4-0 victory in its final regular season game.

Albert Lea jumped out to an early lead off a picture-perfect centering pass from Madi Passingham to Jenna Bowman. A couple of minutes later Passingham scored after receiving a crossing pass from Abbey Arends. Arends added two more goals off assists from Tara Chirpich and Sophie Miller.

The Albert Lea defense was again exceptionally strong.

The team finished with a league record of 7-1-2, good for second place &045; only one game behind the leader. The girls’ overall record improved to 10-2-2.

The team is scheduled for district playoffs July 19 in Lakeville. The locals received a first-round bye and will face the fourth or fifth-place team at 3 p.m.
