Arlyss Bybee, 83, formerly of Wells

Arlyss Bybee died Aug. 6, 2003 in Snohomish, Wash. from respiratory failure.
Arlyss was born Jan. 16, 1920 in Winnebago, Minn. to Elmer and Zina (Forbes) Wallace. She grew up in Wells, where she graduated from Wells High School in 1939. She was the last surviving sibling of her family. Preceding her in death are her parents, four sisters: Vera McDermott, Eva Eustice, Verla Dickerson, Audrey Krell and two brothers: Eugene and Lloyd.
In 1941 Arlyss married Samuel (Buster) Bybee who preceded her in death in 1985. She resided in Albert Lea until 1977 when she moved to California and later to Washington State. She and Sam were charter members of the Albert Lea Grace Lutheran Church. She is survived by their four children: Eugene (Butch) Bybee of Albert Lea; Ken and his wife Carol of Albert Lea; Judy Farrington and her husband Jerry of Soldotna, Alaska and Kathleen Taylor and her husband Brad of Lake Stevens, Wash.
Also surviving are her grandchildren: Anissa, Steve, Dave, Mandy, Jennifer, Kerry and Spencer and 13 great-grandchildren.
Rev. Kent Otterman will preside at an internment of cremation for the family at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 24, 2003, at Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery. A memorial picnic is planned and will be held at Shoff Park beginning at 1 p.m. Friends and relatives in the area who remember Arlyss are invited to drop by to visit with her family.
