The city of Albert Lea Engineering Department announces that construction activities at the intersection of Bridge Avenue and Fountain Street will require the closure of Bridge Avenue from Katherine Street to Clark Street and Fountain Street from Newton Avenue to Bridge Avenue beginning Tuesday, Sept. 2.

The streets will be closed to through traffic, however, local traffic to homes and businesses on the streets will be permitted. The designated detour route is from Bridge Avenue to Katherine Street to Main Street to Newton Avenue to Fountain Street when traveling south on Bridge Avenue to Fountain Street, and vice versa when traveling east on Fountain Street to Bridge Avenue.

The construction activities will require the streets to be closed to through traffic for a maximum of 45 days.
