Robert L. Rogge, 63, Glenville

Memorial services for Robert L. Rogge, age 63, of Glenville, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. The Revs. Kent Otterman and Stephen Hubbell will officiate. Interment will be in Round Prairie Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by Freeborn County servicemen’s organizations. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral, and one hour prior to the services on Saturday.
Robert died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2003, at his home in rural Glenville.
Robert LeRoy Rogge was born Nov. 29, 1939, in Wells to John and Mirre (Hillman) Rogge. He graduated from Freeborn High School. Robert served in the U.S. Army from 1956-1960, and after his discharge returned to Freeborn County where he was employed at several places.
On June 3, 1961, Robert was united in marriage to Margaret Ann Knutson at Round Prairie Lutheran Church. The couple moved to Wisconsin and then to Burnsville where Robert worked as a welding inspector. For the last six years, he was a security guard at Mystic Lake.
Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading and carpentry. He was a life member of the NRA.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret; son, Brian and his wife Sharon and their children, Courtney and Brandon, of Farmington; sisters: Linda and husband Gerald Morgan of Owatonna, and Roxanne and husband Duane Mallon of Albert Lea; brothers: Lloyd and wife Judy Gilbertson of Eden Prairie, and Dennis and wife Pam Gilbertson of Albert Lea; mother-in-law, Telores Knutson of Glenville; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Robert was preceded in death by his father, John Rogge Jr.; mother, Mirre Rogge Gilbertson; stepfather, Ted Gilbertson; brother, Allen Gilbertson; and infant son, Rodney Alan.
