Emily Staloch was the goalie for the Albert Lea U-18 girls’ soccer team in its 8-0 victory over Thief River Falls in the state tournament Tuesday, not Liz Reynen as stated in Wednesday’s Tribune.

Holiday Park reports hole-in-one

HAYWARD &045; Brenda Jensen of Hayward scored a hole-in-one at Holiday Park Golf Course Monday, using a 5-wood in the 138-yard No. 1 hole. Witnessing the shot were Bruce Jensen and Dean and Kellie Anderson.

Memorial golf tourney Aug. 2-8

The Ione Dombroske Memorial Golf Tournament is set for Aug. 2-8 at Green Lea Golf Course.

It’s the second in a series of memorial tournaments for women at Green Lea and is a nine-hole, low-net event open to any female golfer with a league or USGA handicap. There is no entry fee and prizes will be awarded at the annual banquet.

Ione and Eddie Dombroske were charter members of Green Lea. Ione spent more years as secretary of the ladies group than anyone else, still taking notes in shorthand well into her 90s.

Holiday Park tourney Aug. 24

HAYWARD &045; Holiday Park Golf Course near Hayward will host the two-person best-shot Pumping Irons Tourney Sunday, Aug. 24 at 8 a.m. Entry fee is $30 before Aug. 17, $40 after.
