Weber, pro tour returns

The Midwest Senior Professional Bowlers Association Tour &045; featuring PBA Hall of Fame member Dick Weber &045; returns to Albert Lea Labor Day Weekend, Aug. 29-31, at Holiday Lanes.

Weber, who also competed in last year’s event, is among about 50 professionals expected to compete, including two-time Senior PBA Player of the Year Bob Glass.

The action starts at noon Friday with a seniors tournament open to anyone 50 or older, followed by a Senior/Junior/Adult Pro-Am tournament at 7 p.m. Two more pro-ams are set for Saturday night at 7 and 9. All are open to the public at a cost of $20 per person for three games, or $60 for four bowlers on a lane. Pros will alternate lanes and their minimum score is 200. Trophies will be awarded to the top five in each category. Format is nine-pin no-tap.

Another senior event including the pros but open to everyone is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a first-place prize of $1,000.

The tour event starts at 9 a.m. Sunday, with the step-ladder finals set for 8 p.m.
