ROCHESTER &045; According to Albert Lea girls’ soccer coach Paul Marka, the Tigers played their best game of the season as a team Tuesday.
It wasn’t the best outcome. Then again, it wasn’t the worst.
The Tigers played to a scoreless tie at Rochester John Marshall.
&uot;It was an outstanding team effort,&uot; said Marka. &uot;The girls really worked well together and played as a team. I felt we outplayed them and probably should
have won the game. We had a lot of scoring chances.&uot;
Everyone played outstanding, according to Marka, who listed defenders Brianne Plantage, Katie Dooley, Anna Sigurdson and Chelsea Schumaker, midfielders Katie Stenseth, Kelley Schreiber, Jerri Mondeel, Tessa Christenson, Laura Hillman, Leah Walters and Jenny Birkhofer, and forwards Crystal Rentz, Amy Marka, Brittany Arendt and Stacie Armstrong. Jenny Berger got her second varsity shutout at goalie as the Tigers outshot the Rockets 17-10.
The Tigers’ junior varsity lost 2-0 while the C-squad won 2-0.
The Tigers play Thursday at 6:30 at Mankato West.
