Memorial services for Harold A. Mickelson, age 74, of Albert Lea will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 22, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. The Rev. John Bromeland will officiate. Interment will be in Lakewood Cemetery. Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the service at the Chapel.
Harold died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2003, at his home in Albert Lea after a brief battle with cancer.
Harold A. Mickelson was born April 6, 1929, to Alvin B. and Neva (Meader) Mickelson in Albert Lea. He was a graduate of Albert Lea High School, attended Dunwoody Institute and Austin VoTech, and received a certificate in chemical engineering from ICS. On Sept. 5, 1948. Harold was united in marriage to Corrine Rose Enstad at First Methodist Church in Albert Lea. He was a member of the United Methodist Church. Harold was the Manager/Director of the Research & Development Lab at Almco and President of Mickteck, Inc. He belonged to the Elks, Moose, NRA, and Cloverleaf Lions. Harold enjoyed playing pool and spent many hours at the Senior Center with his friends.
Survivors include his sons: Vance and wife Linda Mickelson of Albert Lea, and Richard and wife Kathy Mickelson of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three grandchildren: Chad Mickelson, Nicole Stromley and Justin Mickelson; one great-granddaughter, Cassidy Jo; sister, Annette Chapek; brother, Gordon Mickelson; and nieces and nephews.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Corrine.
Harold will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
