Mary died on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2003, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. She was 78.
She was born May 18, 1925, in Morrilton, Ark., the daughter of Doyle and Ettie (Robertson) Gilley. Mary graduated from High School in Hutchinson, Kan.
On May 22, 1944, she married Lucian (Luke) Trumble in Hutchinson, Kan. In 1965 they made their home in Albert Lea, and in 1967 they began operating the Standard Cafe. In October of 1984 they built and opened Trumbles Restaurant where Mary was still active. Her life revolved around the restaurant and she so enjoyed having the daily opportunity to visit with customers and employees.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, enjoyed a good game of bridge, and spent many winters in Arizona. Spending time with family was very precious to Mary.
She will be greatly missed by her family: husband, Luke of Albert Lea; daughter, Barb and her husband Pat O’Connor of Albert Lea; son, Mike of Minneapolis, grandson, Ryan O’Connor of Albert Lea; brother, Larry Gilley and his wife Rachael of Idabelle, Okla.; sister-in-law, Judy Gilley, also of Idabelle, Okla.; niece, Linda and her husband Jimmy McConnell of Little Rock, Ark.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Imogene Stringer; and brothers: J. R. Gilley, A. D. Gilley, Jack Gilley, Hollis Gilley and Jerry Gilley.
