Muriel Janice Zielie, 81, Wells

Muriel Janice Zielie, age 81, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003, at her home in Wells.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at United Methodist Church in Wells. The Rev. Art Keith will officiate. Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 12, at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells from 5-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in Rosehill Cemetery in Wells.

Muriel was born April 22, 1922, in Wells, the daughter of Homer and Margaret (Penny) Passer. She married Donald R. Zielie on Aug. 1, 1942, in Albert Lea.

Muriel graduated from high school in Wells. She worked as a waitress and homemaker. She was a member of Wells United Methodist Church and the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, crocheting and crossword puzzles.

She is survived by one daughter, Janice and her husband Jerry Johnson of Alden; one daughter-in-law, Kathy Zielie of Lakeville; seven grandchildren: Jill and husband Rick Barnes, Brent Zielie, Candice and husband Chad Stepan, Kris and husband Steve Schultz, Kari Johnson, Kelly Johnson and Katie Johnson; four great-grandchildren: Marshall, Hunter, Bella and Kyra; one sister, Dean Kontzelman of Wells; and two brothers: Glenn Passer of Wells, and David and wife Carol Passer of Crystal, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; two sons: Richard and Ronald Zielie; and one sister, lowen Passer.
