GLENVILLE &045; The Lyle/Austin Pacelli volleyball team is second in the Southeast Conference, with its only losses to top-10 rated Mabel-Canton.

The Glenville-Emmons Wolverines nearly knocked them down a notch.

The Wolverines won game one but dropped the next three at Glenville Tuesday night. The final in favor of the visitors was 23-25, 26-24, 25-13, 25-9.

&uot;In the first game we took it to them,&uot; said coach Lisa Ziebell. &uot;We should have won the second game. When they came back and beat us, that was the turning point. We gave them a run for their money.&uot;

Individual statistics: Becky Ericksen four kills; Ellen Hansen four kills; Megan Bjorklund 10-for-11 serving, one ace, 26-for-26 serve receive, two blocks; Stephanie Peterson 31-for-32 serve receive, 2.5 blocks; Jordan Claussen 12 assists, 20-for-21 serving.

The Wolverines fell to 4-6 in the SEC and 6-10 overall. They travel to Spring Grove Thursday.
