Wolverines take momentum into sub-section

LANESBORO &045; The long trip to Lanesboro was a worthwhile one for the Glenville-Emmons volleyball team.

The Wolverines came home with an impressive 3-0 win Tuesday night, taking momentum into the upcoming sub-section tournament. They won 25-23, 25-6, 25-8.

&uot;The girls looked real good,&uot; said Wolverines head coach Lisa Ziebell. &uot;They played well together. It’s pretty exciting going into tournaments with the team playing that well.&uot;

The Wolverines’ individual leaders: Megan Bjorklund 11-for-12 serving, 12 kills, five digs; Becky Ericksen 12-for-13 serving, nine kills, two digs; Ellen Hansen 14-for-15 serving, seven kills, three blocks, 12 assists; Stephanie Peterson 7-for-7 serving, five kills, two digs, four blocks; Jordan Claussen 18-for-19 serving, four kills, 45 assists; Alicia Reyerson 3-for-3 serving, two kills, two blocks; Mallory Paulson three digs; Hailey Gilbertson 4-for-4 serving.

&uot;It’s really coming together now,&uot; said Ziebell. &uot;The girls are confident heading into section.&uot;

The Wolverines are seeded sixth. They start tournament play Thursday, Oct. 23 against third-seeded Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton at Austin Pacelli.
