Eva Engen, 93, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Eva Doris Engen, age 93, of Albert Lea will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, at First Lutheran Church in Glenville. The Rev. Mark Wendland and Vicar Cory Finstad will officiate. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. Monday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the services at the church.
Eva died Friday, Nov. 28, 2003, at Albert Lea Medical Center.
Eva Doris Engen was born Dec. 29, 1909, to Amund and Randina (Hagrud) Kleven in rural Glenville. She attended rural schools and worked on the family farm and also for other families in the area. On June 27, 1928, Eva was united in marriage to Norman Engen in Kensett, Iowa. She was employed at Wilson & Company for 27 years beginning in 1943, retiring at age 62. Eva enjoyed cooking, baking, traveling with her family, raising flowers and quilting. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and the Mother’s Club.
Survivors include her son, Clayton and his wife Marie Engen of Glenville; grandchildren; David Engen of Burnsville, Minn., Paula and her husband Mark Olson of Glenville, and Richard and his wife Shawna Engen of Pocatello, Idaho; great-grandchildren: Bjorn Olson, Christopher Olson, Stephani Olson, and Karin and Erich Engen; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers: Oscar, Reuben, Clifford and Perry; and sisters: Della, Bernice, Alvina, Clara, Florence and Pearl.
