Candy Hable wanted to make sure a positive attitude stayed with the football players and parents this year.

Hable and her husband, Darin, served as the co-presidents of the Albert Lea Quarterback Club, the football boosters for the Albert Lea High School football team.

Hable has watched her son, Chris, 17, play football since his elementary days and has seen the teams go through many losses. She thinks the losses ended up teaching her son and his teammates important life lessons.

“In real life you’re not always winning,” Hable said.

Hable’s main objective this season was to keep things positive with the boosters.

“I wanted to bring a positive unity back to the football program,” she said.

The boosters hold fund-raisers to provide money to the program to help buy equipment, uniforms and Gatorade for game days.

Hable also said the boosters are there to provide support for the players and coaches.

Hable said she enjoys working with the boosters because there are always people willing to help out when things need to be done.

Hable plans to stay active in the football boosters in the years to come even though her son’s high school playing days are done. She is also going to be involved with cheerleading boosters, where her daughter is a cheerleader.
