Funeral services for Jerome L. Dugan, age 82, of Albert Lea will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Albert Lea.
The Rev. Curtis Zieske will officiate.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Military honors will be accorded by the Freeborn County veterans’ associations.
Visitation is from 4-7 p.m. Friday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services at the church.
Jerry died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2003, at Albert Lea Medical Center.
Jerome Leslie Dugan was born Aug. 3, 1921, to Frank E. and Matha M. (Springborg) Duggan in Hope, Minn.
He graduated from Owatonna High School in 1940.
Jerry served in the United States Army during World War II from 1941 to 1945 in Army Intelligence. On Jan. 23, 1945, he was united in marriage to Alice Burshem in Ellendale.
The couple has lived in Albert Lea for 58 years.
Jerry was employed as an industrial engineer at Streater.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran, American Legion and VFW.
Jerry enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Alice of Albert Lea; children: Tom and his wife Cheryl Dugan of Coon Rapids, Linda and her husband David Olson of Marshall, Peggy and her husband Henry Moller of Bemidji, and Steve Dugan of Albert Lea; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Bud and his wife Pepper Duggan of Las Vegas; sister, Barbara Gilliam of California; sisters-in-law: Eileen and her husband Arvin Thompson, Helia Burshem, Bernice Burshem and Rita Duggan; and many nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jim Duggan; sister, Arlene Saltarali; brothers-in-law: Ray Saltarali, Jack Gilliam, Donald Burshem, William Burshem, Dana Burshem, Ralph Burshem, Allen Burshem, Fred Koecher and Roy Weller; sisters-in-law: Gladys Koecher, Genevieve Burshem, Bernice Burshem, Francis Burshem, Helen Weller; and several nieces and nephews.
