Riverland Hall of Fame to induct six Nov. 29

AUSTIN &045; Six former athletes will be inducted into the Riverland Community College Athletic Hall of Fame on Saturday, Nov. 29.
The official induction ceremony will take place at the 11 a.m. Hall of Fame luncheon. Following the luncheon will be the women’s (1 p.m.) and men’s (3 p.m.) alumni basketball games. An introduction of the inductees will take place between games. Luncheon tickets may be purchased in advance for $10 per ticket. The deadline to purchase tickets is Nov. 27.
This year’s inductees include: Julie Anderson, women’s basketball, softball, 1978-80; Richard Anderson, men’s basketball, 1950-53; Kim Bass, women’s volleyball, basketball, softball, 1986-88; Fred Budde, men’s tennis, 1975-77; Linda Tapp, women’s volleyball, basketball, softball, 197981; Kelly Tritz, men’s tennis, 1975-77.
Since 1997, 18 former Riverland athletes and coaches have been inducted into the Hall of Fame. These individuals include men golfers, basketball, baseball and football players and women golfers, basketball, softball, volleyball players plus various coaches and athletic directors. Candidates may be either former athletes or coaches associated with Riverland Community College or the former Austin Community College athletic programs.
