Violet L. Clausen, 94, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Violet L. Clausen, age 94, of Albert Lea, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home.

The Rev. John Dygert will officiate.

Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, rural Oakland. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Friday at Bayview and one hour prior to the services on Saturday.

Violet died Monday, Nov. 17, 2003, at St. John’s Lutheran Home.

Violet Lucille Clausen was born March 4, 1909, to Carl and Martha (Karpa) Ulrich in Ewart, Iowa.

She attended rural elementary schools.

On Oct. 12, 1927, Violet was united in marriage to Harley D. Beavens in New Richland.

On Jan. 6, 1979, she married Herbert J. Clausen at First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea.

Violet had been employed in sales at Montgomery Ward for 16 years.

She had been a member of First Lutheran Church and St. John’s Lutheran Church in Janesville.

Violet had been a resident of Senior Court for two years before moving to St. John’s 5 1/2 months ago.

She enjoyed bingo, cards, and crafts and especially time spent with family and her many friends.

Survivors include her children: Ludell and her husband Albert Lageson and their children, Darryl and his wife Debbie, Vicky and her husband Merle, and Kelvin and his wife Carol; David and his wife Judy Beavens and their children Michael and Katie; and Larry and his wife Cheryl Beavens and their children Shelly and her husband David and Ryan and his wife Amanda; 11 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; step children: David and his wife Lorraine Clausen, Douglas and his wife Barb Clausen, Sharon and her husband Royce Doering, and Ron and his wife Lois Clausen; numerous step grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, LaJune Sorensen; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Violet was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Harley Beavens and Herbert Clausen; brother, Gordon Ulrich; sister, Grace Beavens; infant sister, Addie; brothers-in-law, Leslie Beavens and Orla Sorensen; sister-in-law, Elsie Ulrich; and great-great-granddaughter, Shayla Lynn Yarnell.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. John s Lutheran Home and Crossroads Community Hospice, both of Albert Lea.

Violet will be sadly missed by her loving family and many friends.
