Anna C. Yokiel, age 93, of Wells, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003, at Shepherd’s Inn in Wells.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20, at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells. The Rev. Eugene Stenzel will officiate. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, at the Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery, Wells.
Anna C. Yokiel was born on Feb. 16,1910, in Wells, the daughter of Valentine and Anna (Yokiel) Klocek. She was a life long resident of Wells. She graduated from the 8th grade.
She married Martin A. Yokiel on Nov. 22, 1932, in Wells. She worked at Wells Hospital for 10 years and did house cleaning for several families. She was a life long member of St. Casimir Catholic Church, C.C.W., and Rosary Society. She was a member of the Wells Senior Citizens. She enjoyed baking, and playing cards with her card clubs.
She is survived by three children: Rose Marie and husband Mark Lenort of Wells, Bernadette and husband Ray Smothers of Vernon Center, and Lyle and wife Barb Yokiel of Rochester; six grandchildren: Steve and wife Nancy Ulrich of Wells, Don Lenort of St. Louis, Mo., Tamara and husband Jim Giljohann of Henderson, Nev., Randy and wife Andrea Smothers of Zumbrota, Minn., Doug Yokiel of Rochester, and Lisa Yokiel of Rochester; nine great-grandchildren: Trent, Tiffany, Kevin, Brett, Alissa, Alec, Adam, Max and Jack; one sister, Hattie Dulas of Wells; two brothers: Ray Klocek of Wells, and
Phillip and wife Viola Klocek of Ellendale; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and one sister, and her husband in 1968.
