Bell ringer’s rewards come in seeing the good in people

Sally Phillips believes in the Salvation Army.

That is why she volunteers her time to help the Salvation Army raise money. She has been a bell-ringer every year since she retired as a school teacher.

&uot;They do a lot of good in the community,&uot; she said.

Phillips said she likes the programs the Salvation Army has for kids in the community.

Phillips enjoys seeing the rewards of her standing in a drafty entryway at Shopko.

&uot;People are good about stopping in,&uot; she said.

Phillips volunteers with a group from St. James Catholic Church in Twin Lakes.
