Carl Henry Nore, 92, Wells

Carl Henry Nore, 92, of Wells died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003, at his home. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 22, at Rice Lake United Methodist Church in rural Wells. The Rev. Lynn Borgeson will officiate.
Visitation will be at the Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells today, Dec. 21, from 3-7 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be at Rice Lake Cemetery in Foster Township, Faribault County.
Carl was born on March 10, 1911, and raised on a farm near Coulee, N.D., the son of Norwegian parents Ole and Emma (Pederson) Nore. He had four sisters and four brothers. He married Ruby Yonkey on June 17, 1936, in Rice Lake Church. He farmed all of his life on the family Century Farm. He was a member of Rice Lake United Methodist Church for more than 65 years where he served as usher, trustee and on Stewardship Committee. He served on the Rice Lake Cemetery board, the Faribault County Council on Aging, Faribault County Farm Bureau, a volunteer driver and worker for Foster Township United Fund. He was named Outstanding Senior Citizen for Faribault County in 1998. He was a caregiver for his wife Ruby for many years. He volunteered by performing at community activities such as Senior Citizens, Kee Kapers, Life Care facilities and family festivities with his daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, playing harmonica. He also was a volunteer driver and support person for other seniors. He also enjoyed wood working, refinishing chairs and visiting with family and friends.
He is survived by one daughter: Karlene and husband Bill Gormley of Wells, one daughter-in-law: Bonnie Nore of Wells, four grandchildren: Daniel Gormley, Mike and wife Kim Gormley, Karla and husband Craig Kleschult and Elizabeth Gormley, five great-grandchildren: Brianna, Mikayla and Myah Gormley and Hannah and Madeline Klescuhlt.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Ruby in 1993; son Donovan in 2002; sisters, Clara, Sarah, Mabel and Agnes; and brothers, Oscar, Iner, Edwin and Albert.
