Carlyle Erling Greibrok was born on March 17, 1922, in Woodworth, N.D., the son of Aanon and Effie (Nelson) Greibrok. He was baptized by his father in infancy and confirmed by Rev. Nordaune. Carlyle attended country school in rural Glenville. On May 20, 1951, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Kuhlmann at Bethany Lutheran Church in Kensett, Iowa. Carlyle farmed in the Oakland and Austin vicinity. He also had a business of plastering new homes and remodeling others. He helped remodel Deer Creek Valley Lutheran Church and enjoyed remodeling and adding on to his home, which was originally built in 1890. Carlyle enjoyed collecting toy tractors and cars. This interest led him to create the Greibrok Toy Museum. He spent many hours creating an imaginative farming wonderland.
