Graveside services for Dorothy Ann &uot;Dody&uot; Peterson will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, at Graceland Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Young officiating. Bonnerup Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
Dody died on Sunday, Dec. 7, 2003, in Mobile, Ala. She was 85 years old.
Dody was born in Albert Lea on June 10, 1918, the daughter of David and Flora (Hanson) Peterson. She was a 1935 graduate of Albert Lea High School and a 1940 graduate of the University of Minnesota with a degree in accounting.
Dody was a member of the National Honor Society, Girl Scouts, Girl Reserves, Women’s Self Government Association and Women’s Credit Association. She was an avid golfer.
She worked as a credit clerk and manager for a company in Minneapolis from 1940-1944. She served as a WAC in 1944 and 1945. She was employed by Brookley Air Force Base as a control clerk. In 1950, she took a job in accounting with a firm in Mobile, Ala. until retirement.
Dody is survived by her sister, Doris Lundquist of Midland, Mich.; niece, Susie Lundquist-Staloch of Midland, Mich.; and nephew, David Lundquist of Chanhassen.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Flora Hanson Peterson; father, David Peterson; and friend, Miriam Smith.
