The Annual Albert Lea Elks Hoop Shoot is set for Saturday, Dec. 6 at Southwest Junior High School.

The girls’ contest is at 9 a.m. and the boys’ contest is at 10:30 a.m. Registration is in the gym prior to the contest.

Each year more than 3 million boys and girls age 8-13 participate in the Elks Hoop Shoot, which highlights the Elks’ commitment to America’s youth.

Each year six national champions are named, one boy and girl in each of three age categories: 8-9, 10-11, and 12-13.

The Elks desire, through their Hoop Shoot program, to provide an interesting, character-building, competitive program for all boys and girls in the contest regardless of their previous athletic competition or abilities.

There is no fee to compete.
