Marion Jean Frydenlund, 80, Albert Lea

Memorial services for Marion J. Frydenlund, age 80, of Albert Lea, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 5, at First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. John Holt will officiate. Interment will be in Hayward Cemetery. Friends may greet the family 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the services at the church.

Marion died Monday, Dec. 1, 2003, at Albert Lea Good Samaritan Center.

Marion Jean Frydenlund was born Sept. 6, 1923, to Harry and Alice (Jensen) Arneson in rural Clarks Grove. She attended rural schools. On Nov. 10, 1946, Marion was united in marriage to Robert Frydenlund. Marion worked at Munsingwear and A & W for a short time. She was then employed at the Standard Cafe and later Trumble’s where she was known as “The Pie Lady,” retiring in 1996 after 25 years. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and enjoyed baking, gardening, and working outdoors.

Survivors include her husband, Robert; children: Gerald and his wife Carol, John and his wife Maureen, Richard, and Barbara and her husband Richard Wichmann; grandchildren: Travis and his wife Denise, Kirsten, Angi and her husband Tim Bolin, and Tony; great-grandchild, Alycia Frydenlund; sisters: Carol Westland and Dorothy Westland; sisters-in-law: Grace Arneson, Ann Dockwell, and Maurine Frydenlund; brothers-in law: David Frydenlund, and Freeman and his wife Shirley Frydenlund; and many nieces and nephews.

Marion was preceded in death by her parents; father- and mother-in-law: John and Hildegaard Frydenlund; brother, Alton Arneson; sister, Arlene Jensen; brothers-in-law: Earl Westland, LuVerne Westland, Alvin Jensen, Elmer Dockwell, Harold Frydenlund, and Joel and his wife Bobby Frydenlund; sister-in-law, Rose Frydenlund; and nieces: Marie Coleman and Alvira McIntyre.
