Wayne and Sue Vietze know their volunteer efforts are needed to help keep the girls basketball program going.
Parents of each girls’ basketball player, from fourth-grade on, are asked to volunteer at a few high school games every year to makes things run smoothly. Jobs include selling tickets, selling concessions, running the time clock and other duties needed on game days.
&uot;If we don’t do it, they’d be paying somebody,&uot; Sue said.
Wayne and Sue have a daughter on the ninth-grade team and agree it is fun to work a couple times during the season. They enjoy seeing and talking to the people coming to the games. They also volunteer because they know it directly helps their daughter and the basketball program.
