Trio of thieves rob hotels at gunpoint

A group of three thieves, robbed two Albert Lea hotels at gunpoint Saturday night.
At about 7:20 p.m. the three robbers entered the Super 8 Hotel on Main Street, one of the men brandished a gun and demanded money. They took an undisclosed sum, and left in an unknown vehicle.
Less than 20 minutes later they did the same thing at the Holiday Inn Express on Plaza Street.
All three are described as being in their mid- to late-20s. They all wore ski-masks. The gun is believed to be a small caliber black automatic handgun.
Assistant Police Chief Dwaine Winkels said the police have no leads at this point, but hopes that someone will come forward with information, including a description of the vehicle which tore out of the parking lots of the two hotels.
