Memorial services for Anita L. Salveson, age 61, of Albert Lea, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, at First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Dan Baker will officiate. Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Anita died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2004, at the Albert Lea Medical Center.

Anita Louise Salveson was born Oct. 16, 1942, to Kay and Ruth (Solnes) Petersen in Albert Lea. She attended schools in Albert Lea and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1961. On Sept. 14, 1964, Anita was united in marriage to Jerome Salveson at Salem Lutheran Church in Albert Lea, The couple lived in Lakes Mills for nine years before returning to Albert Lea in 1973. Anita had worked at the Albert Lea Tribune and as a waitress at Dee’s Chill. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and enjoyed collecting dolls.

Survivors include her husband, Jerome of Albert Lea; children: Lynn and husband Allen Von Hagen of Freeborn, and Mark Salveson of Philadelphia, Pa.; grandchildren: Jordan and Jessica Von Hagen of Freeborn; sisters: Sonja Petersen, and Elizabeth and husband Dick Dablen, all of Albert Lea; and several nieces and nephews.

Anita was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
