Bulldogs dominate tourney

GRAETTINGER, Iowa &045; The Lake Mills wrestling team roughed up the competition in Saturday’s Graettinger Invitational, walking away with the championship.
The Bulldogs totaled 240 points, with the host team a distant second with 170. Following were Garner-Hayfield with 141, Sibley-Ocheydan 121.5, Lakeland 115, Twin River Valley 114, Southern Calhoun 85, HMS 76 and Sioux Central 54.5.
Nine Lake Mills wrestlers reached the championship round, and four took the title.
Finishing first were Brent Tweed, 103 pounds; Cody Rognes, 112; Stephan Schwartz, 119; and Andrew Knudtson, 140. Tweed defeated No. 4 rated Jordan Hasenkamp 9-4 in the title match. Rognes won by fall in the finals.
Lake Mills’ runners-up were Alex Langfald, 135; Andy Leuwerke, 152; Justin Kester, 171; Andrew Hagen, 189; and Jake Koeppen, 275.
Other Bulldog places: Peter Brekken, fifth, 125; Spencer Stensrude, third, 130; Tony Langfald, third, 145; Andy Langfald, third, 160; and Jake Brackey, sixth, 215.
The Bulldogs are off until this Saturday, when they host the Lake Mills Invitational at 11 a.m.
