Dawn LaVonne Barney, 74, Springfield, Mo.

Dawn LaVonne Barney, age 74, of Springfield, Mo., went to be forever with her Lord on Jan. 15, 2004.
She was born on March 13, 1929, in Albert Lea, the youngest of five daughters born to Christian Jergen Mundale and Clara Idell Mundale. She was very proud of her Norwegian heritage.
She was a 1948 graduate of Alden High School.
As a young girl, she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and lived a life devoted to Him to her very last day on Earth. She was a member of Evangel Temple.
In August of 1950 she was married to Mervin Glenn Michaelson, who preceded her in death in March of 1986. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Jean Mundale, and a nephew, Dennis Ashpole.
On July 27, 1993, she was married to Rev. Kenneth D. Barney. They spent several years traveling in ministry in the United States, Canada, and Newfoundland.
Her survivors include her husband, Rev. Kenneth D. Barney; stepson, Rev. Kenneth D. Barney Jr. and wife Cindy; stepgrandsons: Justin, Nathan, and Tyler Barney; stepdaughter, Kristy Flick and husband Lynn, stepgrandaughter, Kimberly Flick; stepgrandson, Timothy Flick; and sisters: Bonnie Lou Ashpole and husband Rev. Bill Ashpole, Phyllis Mundale, and Carmen Mundale.
Visitation was 7 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 19, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North., Springfield. Services were 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, in the funeral home, with burial following in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens., Springfield.
