Margueriette Marge Lorraine Holland, 84, Rogers, Minn.

Margueriette “Marge&uot; Lorraine Holland was born on July 21, 1919, in Freeborn Township, Freeborn County, to Williams and Josie (Corner) Hass Sr.

She graduated from Freeborn High School in 1937. Marge married Harold’ &uot;Kelly” Holland on Nov. 18, 1937, in Wells. The couple farmed in Easton and later in Hartland. She worked at Birdseye Canning Plant in Waseca, Stables Supper Club in Albert Lea, and Herter’s in Waseca. The couple operated White Birch Resort at Blackduck, Minn., from 1960 to 1962. Following the sale of the resort they moved to New Richland where she worked in the locker plant. When Kelly retired in September 1977, the couple moved to Zimmerman, Minn. Marge was employed by Crystal Cabinets in Princeton until retirement in April of 1989. Marge enjoyed playing cards with her friends, volunteering at the Clothing Depot and the church, making craft projects, quilting, baking pies and making jelly. Her favorite thing was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter, La Rae Michalko of Blackduck; her grandsons: James “Sam” Michalko of Blackduck, Keith Holland and wife Donna of Zimmerman, Joseph Holland of Princeton and his special friend Lyndi Wentler of Zimmerman, and Steven Holland and wife Britt of Zimmerman; her daughter-in-law, Jeanne Holland of Princeton; five great-grandchildren; her sister, Dorothy Anderson of Adams, Minn.; her sister-in-law, Mary Ham of Sleepy Eye; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold; her son, Dennis; son-in-law, Edward Michalko; six sisters: Helen Stensrud, Evelyn Kuster, Nellie Hanson, Phyllis Kapaun, Marilyn Rusmusson and Ruth Thisius; and two brothers: Williams Hass Jr. and Gerald Hass.

Marge died on Friday, Jan. 23, 2004, in Wellsted of Rogers, Minn., at the age of 84.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26, in Williams-Hanson-Kaun Funeral Home, Princeton, and will continue one hour prior to the 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, funeral service in the Cross of Glory Church in Hartland. The Rev. Dennis Frank will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Casket bearers are Joe Holland, Steve Holland, Keith Holland, Sam Michalko, Stephanie Holland, Chelsey Holland and Alexis Holland.
