Alice Jane Paske (nee Dulas) of Edina, formerly of Albert Lea and Wells, was called home to glory on Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2004, after an illness of short duration, at the age of 79 years.
Alice was born on Aug. 31, 1924, on a farm just south of Wells.
Her parents, Peter and Mary Dulas of Wells, preceded her in death. Also preceding her in passing was an older brother, Marvin; and three older sisters: Cecelia, Dolores and Irene.
One sister, Margaret, survives.
Alice attended St. Casimir Catholic grade school and was confirmed and baptized in St. Casimir Catholic Church. After grade school she entered and graduated from Wells High School wherein she was active in band, chorus, G.A.A., as well as other extra curricular activities. While attending school she was employed at the Deluxe Cafe and at Bush’s Drug Store.
She was united in marriage to Orville H. Paske, her husband of 61 years, on Sept. 7, 1942. Vows were taken at the home of the groom and officiated by the Rev. Sanford Carlson of the Wells Gospel Tabernacle. Her husband survives her. Also, this union was blessed with the birth of two sons: Jon Wayne of Albert Lea, and Timothy James of Osseo, Minn. They and their respective spouses along with three grandchildren and one great-grandchild survive.
Alice was a member/officer of many Christian and civic organizations. Her primordial goal in life was in service to Christ and the biblical admonition of &uot;seeking first the kingdom of God.&uot; This was epitomized by her many years of a devoted Sunday school teacher/Superintendent and as a choir/soloist participant. For several years she and her husband were heard as a singing duet on station KATE. Their theme was the firm message of &uot;Heralding Christ Jesus’ Blessing.&uot; Just prior to her passing she was actively and enthusiastically employed by Southdale Mall in Edina, MN.
Alice will be sorely missed by all who loved and respected her, friends, neighbors, and relatives alike. Her winning ways, her warm and contagious personality, her blithe spirit, as well as her captivating brown eyes, will surely enhance Heaven’s boundaries. She is now free of earthly cares, and life’s burdens and can say with Paul the Apostle-Phil 1: 23, “With Christ which is far better.&uot;
