Beeb Hagen, Albert Lea

Memorial services for Beeb Hagen will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 11, at 2 p.m. from Lunder Lutheran Church. The Rev. Tammy Dahlvang will officiate. Burial will be at the Lunder Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Freeborn County Servicemen’s Organization. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church. Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Beeb died on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004, at the Albert Lea Medical Center.

Myrvel (Beeb) Wilbert Hagen was born on Feb. 7, 1928, in Freeborn County the son of Norman and Julia (Aanrud) Hagen. He was baptized at Lunder Lutheran Church and confirmed at Round Prairie Lutheran Church. Beeb was raised and attended rural schools in Freeborn County. He served his country first in the Merchant Marines and then in the Korean Conflict with the Army Reserves. After his discharge Beeb returned to Freeborn County where he worked for Sorensen Brothers Construction as a cement finisher. Prior to this he spent a short time in California panning for gold. Beeb enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping. He also enjoyed watching Vikings Football games. He was a member of the VFW in Albert Lea.

Survivors include his brothers: Nolan (Bud) Hagen of Twin Lakes, Norman and wife Kaye Hagen of Forest City, Iowa, and Lloyd and wife Doris Hagen of Albert Lea; sisters: Phyllis Blake of Alden, Dawn and husband Chad Williams of Austin, and Shawn Hagen of Lyle; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Beeb was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Robert and Glenis; and sister, Norma.
