Following a 94 year old process, First Lutheran Church of Albert Lea and First Lutheran Church of Glenville have begun a program of values education targeted at 1st through 5th grade boys and their parents.
In this past year both churches have begun Cub Scout Packs because they see the value in the Scouting program.
At First Lutheran Glenville, Local Banker, Bob Krier is the new Cub master and has a group of other parents working with him to make sure the new pack is successful.
Since kicking off last spring the boys have been to Day Camp, had their Pinewood Derby race, Toured the local Fire station, went caroling at Brian’s Elder Care, and, of course, worked on their advancements.
Jennifer Sorlie is the driving force behind Pack 6 at Albert Lea’s First Lutheran. As a member of the church’s youth commission. She agreed to help organize the pack and has continued beyond the organizational aspect to become the Committee Chair.
They, too, have done a great job working on their projects, have just completed their pinewood derby race, and are looking forward to getting to camp this summer.
During Boy Scout Anniversary Week this week, the officials in the organization salute First Lutheran Church of Albert Lea and First Lutheran Church of Glenville for their commitment to today’s youth.
