Wayne A. Emerson, age 76 of New Richland, formerly of Emmons, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004, at Country Neighbors Home in New Richland.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at Emmons Lutheran Church in Emmons with the Rev. Julie Fiske officiating.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday morning at the church.
Burial will take place at Oak Lawn Cemtery near Emmons.
Wayne A. Emerson was born in Albert Lea Aug. 6, l927, son of Harry and Maggie (Knutson) Emerson. He graduated from Central High School in St. Paul.
Wayne served in the United States Army in the Amphibious Corp. He attended Dunwoody Institute (electrical) and later worked for Knutson and Olien, Inc., a hardware and implement store in Emmons. After that he worked at Printed Circuits in Lake Mills, Iowa.
Wayne was an avid golfer and sports fan, going to many sporting events in the area.
He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and visiting with friends and family.
Wayne is survived by his brother, Lynn and his wife Helen of Andover, Minn.; two nieces: Janet (Gary) DeGuise and Barbara (Steve) Lutmer, of Andover; a nephew, Steven (Marilyn) Emerson of Little Falls, Minn.; four great-nephews; two great-nieces; cousins; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and two cousins.
