Charlene Rae Whitman was born on Jan. 7, 1938, the daughter of Lester Whitman and Gladys (Mulford) Whitman Seefeld in Iowa Falls. She attended school in Iowa Falls and was a 1956 graduate of Iowa Falls High School. On April 20, 1958, Charlene was united in marriage to James Jensen at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Charlene and James lived in Iowa Falls until 1964 when they moved to Albert Lea, then moving to Mason City in 1985.
Charlene was a loving and caring wife and mother, keeping an immaculate home for her family. She shared almost 46 years of marriage with her husband.
For the first twenty years of Dave and Pam’s lives Charlene was our mother and educator, and the rest of her life she was our best friend. We could share anything with her and had many happy times laughing and loving. She adored her grandchildren and her only regret was not to be here for them. Charlene will be caring for her grandchildren, Mathew and Benjamin, in heaven for us now.
Charlene was very active with E.G.A. (Embroiderers Guild of America) and an avid stitcher. She also gave of her time volunteering for the hospital. Charlene and Jim both are active in the Railroad Retired Employees Group. She touched the hearts of many people and will leave a lasting impression on each of them. Charlene will be dearly missed by her family and they are comforted knowing she is no longer in pain.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all of the staff of Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa and Hospice of North Iowa who cared for Charlene and her family during this difficult time.
Charlene is survived by her husband, James Jensen of Mason City; one daughter, Pamela Rohrbacher and husband John of Minneapolis; one son, David Jensen and wife Kathryn of Blaine, Minn.; three grandchildren, Adam Rohrbacher, and Pearl and Neal Jensen; one brother, Wilbur Whitman and wife Darlene of Belle vista, Ark.; and several other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and grandsons: Mathew and Benjamin.
