Memorial services for Larry N. Oakland of Glenville will be held at 3 p.m.
Saturday, March 6, at the Bonnerup Funeral Service Chapel in Albert Lea.
The Rev. Mark Wendland and Vicar Korey Finstad will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Albert Lea.
Mr. Oakland died Wednesday, March 3, 2004, at the Albert Lea Medical Center. He was 59 years of age.
Larry was born July 17, 1944, in Albert Lea, the son of Norman and Delores
(Freeman) Oakland. Larry was baptized and confirmed at the First Lutheran Church of Albert Lea. He was a graduate of Albert Lea High School in 1963. He was united in marriage to Lorraine Sigurdson in Albert Lea. After their marriage they made their home in Glenville.
Larry was employed for over 20 years at the Streater Co. in the wood shop. In his free time he enjoyed hunting and fishing and went moose hunting in Canada with his father. Larry also enjoyed a good conversation.
Larry is survived by his father, Norman of Albert Lea; and children: Robert, Jeremiah and Amber. Also surviving are three grandchildren; one sister, Nancy Oakland of Rochester, MN.; and two brothers: Roger Oakland of Rochester, and Bill Walker of Albert Lea.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Delores; wife, Lorraine; and one sister, Linda Oakland.
