Nicholas Martin Bernau, 25, Clarks Grove

Nicholas Martin Bernau, age 25, of Clarks Grove, was called to his heavenly home, Saturday, March 27, 2004.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 30, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Scarville, Iowa, with Rev. Randy Baldwin officiating.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. today at Mittelstadt Funeral Home in Lake Mills, Iowa, and again one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday morning.

Burial will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery north of Scarville.

Nicholas Martin Bernau was born Sept. 7, 1978. at Naeve Hospital in Albert Lea, the son of Martin and Julie (Bjelland) Bernau. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Scarville where he was a current member and played on the Immanuel Dart Ball Team.

Nick graduated from Glenville-Emmons High School &uot;Class of 1997.&uot;

He attended Waldorf College and Minnesota West Technical School. He was employed at Truth Hardware in Owatonna.

Nick was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed watching and participating in all sports. Nick especially enjoyed listening to the Minnesota Twins games with his Grandma Alice. Family gatherings and traditions were very important to him.

Nick is survived by his parents: Martin and Julie Bernau of Emmons; his sister, Emily Bernau and her fianc Jason Hillman of Austin; his maternal grandparents: Dick and Lee Bjelland of Albert Lea; his aunts and uncles: Carol Bjelland of Newbury Park, Calif., Marvin and his wife Susan Bernau of Emmons, Merrill and his wife Debi Bernau of Emmons,

and Mark and his wife Cindy Bernau of Madison, Wis.; along with many other cousins and good friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Otto and Alice Bernau.

Nick will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Blessed be all the wonderful memories that we shared in his short journey.
