The funeral service for Esther Jensen

of Albert Lea, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 1, at St. John’s Lutheran Home Chapel. The Rev. Jeff Laeger-Hagemeister and Chaplain Monrad Mandsager will officiate. Interment will be in the Graceland Cemetery, Albert Lea. Visitation will be one hour before service at the chapel.

Esther died on Wednesday, April 28, 2004, at St. John’s Lutheran Home.

She was 98 years old.

Esther was born in Albert Lea on Nov. 4, 1905, the daughter of Jens and Maren (Anderson) Sheldon. She attended country school and was a life time resident of

Freeborn County. Esther married Robert Jensen on Nov. 2, 1937. Esther had been a member of Salem Lutheran Church. In 1985 Esther moved to the Luther Place Condos. She enjoyed farming, animals and was an excellent homemaker on her family farm.

Esther is survived by her sons: Earl (Joanne) Jensen of Apple Valley, Minn., and Roger (Joan) Jensen of Burnsville, Minn.; grandchildren: Greg (Corrine) Jensen, Michele Jensen, Lisa (Chris) Germann, Keith Jensen and Kevin (Beverly) Jensen; and great-grandchildren: Lindsey, Tyler, Hakon, Emily and Amy.

Esther was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert, in 1985; brothers: Arthur and Thorvald; and sister, Edna.
