Harry R. Atkinson died Friday, April 23, 2004, at Trinitas Hospital in Elizabeth, N.J.

Harry was born Oct. 4,1917, in Rockcastle County, Ky.

Harry was a World War II Army veteran. He retired from his position as a correctional officer at Rahway State Prison, Rahway, N.J., in 1973 and was an avid golfer and fisherman.

He is survived by a son, Andrew Atkinson and his wife, Peggy, and their children, Drew, Adam and Lydia Atkinson, of Clarks Grove; a daughter, Linda Lodzinski and her husband, Walter, and their children, Walter and Diana Lodzinski, of Union, N.J.; and a son, Roger Atkinson of Elizabeth, N.J.

The funeral service was held Monday, April 26, at Krowicki McCracken Funeral Home, Linden, N.J.
