John LeRoy Register, Sr., 93, Adams

John LeRoy Register, Sr., age 93 of Adams formerly of Rose Creek died Thursday afternoon, April 22, 2004, at the Adams Health Care Center in Adams. He was born September 6,1910, in Rush City, the son of John L. and Isabelle (Overlie) Register. John grew up in Dunnell, and moved to Moscow,
in 1939. On January 28, 1931, he was united in marriage to Amy A. Kateley in Estherville, Iowa. They lived and farmed near Moscow for many years before moving to Rose Creek where he farmed and worked for Johnson Cashway. He enjoyed working outside, traveling, raising animals, building things and spending time with his family and friends. He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church. Mrs. Register died in October of 1989.
Survivors include, three sons, John (Norma) Register, Jr. of Austin, Ralph (Sheri) Register of Red Wing and Arnold (Ann) Register of Anderson, S.C.; thirteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, George Register of Ecru, Miss.; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Amy Register; one brother and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 27, 2004 at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel. The burial will follow the service in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Worlein Funeral Home on Monday, April 26th from 5 to 8 p.m. and for one hour prior to the service. Memorials are preferred to the donor’s choice.
