Manville George Meyer, age 81, of Albert Lea, formerly of Alden, died
Tuesday, April 13, 2004, at the Albert Lea Medical Center in Albert Lea of complications of heart disease
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 16, at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Alden. The Rev. Peter Soli will officiate. Visitation will be held at the Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 15, with a prayer service at 8 p.m., and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Interment will be in Rosehill Cemetery, Wells.
Manville was born on April 6, 1923, in Clark Township, Faribault County, the son of William F. and Esther (Buendorf) Meyer. He married Marion Weston on Feb. 24, 1949, in Wells. He was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church
(now Good Shepherd Lutheran Church) in Wells. He graduated from Alden High School in 1940. He farmed in the rural Alden area until Feb. 2, 1985. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Alden. He enjoyed reading and family gatherings. His children and grandchildren and his great-grandchild are very important to him.
He is survived by his wife, Marion Meyer of Albert Lea; four children and their families: Katherine and her husband Larry Janssen of Worthington and their children: David, his daughter, Brooke, Thomas and Karmon; Linda and her husband Thomas Quinn of Bloomington; Thomas Meyer and his wife Judy of Sioux Falls, S.D. and their sons, Alexander and Austin; and Paul Meyer and wife Lori of Alden and two daughters, Kelsey and Katelyn, and step-children, Nathan and Sara Westland, Alicia and Amanda Hoffman; sister, Burdella and husband William Main of Park Rapids, Minn.; brother-in-law, Lloyd O. Weislander of Mitchellville, Iowa; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
