NRHEG girls win quad at Faribault Academies

FARIBAULT &045; The New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva girls’ track and field team dominated a four-team meet hosted by Faribault Academies Thursday.
The Panthers won with 121.5 points, with the host team a distant second at 67.5. Blooming Prairie totaled 32, Southwest Minnesota Christian 16.
&uot;This was a nice meet for us after the Panther Invite,&uot; said co-coach Duey Ferber. &uot;The girls stepped up and performed well for a windy night.&uot;
Kalisha Anthony and Alison Anderson led the way.
Anthony won the 100-meter hurdles and the long jump and took third in the 100 dash. Anderson won the 100 and 200 and was second in the long jump.
The other NRHEG firsts were by Ashley Misgen, 300 hurdles; Karla Lewer, 3200; Kyree Wobbrock, shot put; and Brittany Schwartz, discus.
Placing second: 4×800 relay (Melissa Maurer, Jill Drube, Jessica Knudson, Melissa Barber); Tami Sorenson, 100 hurdles; 4×200 relay (Alyssa Braaten, Hillary Johnson, Megan Groskreutz, Erica Nelson); 4×100 (Braaten, Anderson, Anthony, Johnson); Jessica Brouwers, 800; Steph Bell, 200; Schwartz, shot put; Jennifer Grunzke, discus; Tappe, high jump.
Third: Bell, 400; Barber, 300 hurdles; Johnson, 200; Grunzke, shot put; Misgen, high jump; Manthey, triple jump. Fourth: Barber, 100 hurdles; Sorenson, 300 hurdles; Drube, 3200; Wobbrock, discus; Braaten, high jump.
The NRHEG boys were second to Faribault Academies, which won with 103 points. The Panthers had 75, Blooming Prairie 32, SWMC 22.
&uot;The boys looked good tonight,&uot; said co-coach Mike Weber.
Two of the Panthers’ five firsts were in relays.
Tim Rysavy, Matt Reiter, John Coffield and Brian Bos won the 4×800 while Dustin Schriever, Adam Moen, Geoff Stieglbauer and Blake Kierkoff took the 4×100. Sonny Berg won the 300 hurdles and long jump, Reiter the 3200.
Seconds were by Berg, 110 hurdles; 4×200 relay (Schriever, Stieglbauer, Kierkoff, Rysavy); Bos, 800; Schriever, 200 and high jump.
Third: Stieglbauer, 100 and long jump; Coffield, 1600; Berg, 200; 4×400 (Coffield, Tim Bartness, Tom Bartness, Krey Cory). Fourth: Kierkoff, 200; Nick Beatty, 3200; Matt Holland, shot put; Jake Bushlack, high jump; Bos, long jump. Fifth: Rysavy, 800 and triple jump.
