Jessie Sylvia (Fowler) Stilley, former resident of Fairfax, Okla., went home to her Lord and savior on Friday, May 21, 2004. She was 87.

Jessie, a resident of Westminister Village in Ponca City, Okla., passed away at the Via Christi Hospital in Ponca City.

Memorial services were held 2 p.m. Monday, May 24, at the First Christian Church in Ponca City with Rev. Kent Dosey officiating.

Jessie was born on May 16, 1917, in Newark, Ark., the daughter of John and Rosa Fowler. She was raised in Osage and attended school there. On July 20, 1940, she married Glen W. Stilley and lived in Tulsa, Okla. Together they had three children: Glenda J. Getman, James (Jim) D. Stilley, and William Richard (Bill) Stilley. In 1994 she moved to Ponca City with her daughter, Glenda.

Jessie’s faith and love for her Lord will always be an inspiration to those who knew and loved her, She was a kind, precious lady, and a special friend to many people. She always had a smile on her face and in her heart.

She is survived by one sister, Dorothy Brown of Vista, Calif.; her daughter, Glenda Getman of Ponca City; two sons: Jim Stilley and wife Felicia of Enid, Okla., and Bill Stilley and wife Judy of Albert Lea; 12 grandchildren: Ron Getman of Bristow, Okla., Angie Novotny and Floyd, Ronny White and Donna, Reggie Getman and Bobbie, all of Ponca City, Theresa Patterson of Sand Springs, Okla., Christy Ware and John of Hominy, Okla., Bruce Stilley and Emmy, Rhonda Allison and Mike, of Glenville, Bryon Stilley and Vicki of Brainerd, Justine McSperitt and Randal of Seminole, Okla., Jeff Stilley and Cyndy of Tulsa, and Jason Stilley of Stillwater, Okla.; 24 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Rosa; her husband, Glen; and two sisters: infant baby girl and Lois Owens.

Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel. Interment will be in the Odd Fellows I00F Cemetery in Ponca City.
