Nellie R. Peterson, 93, Albert Lea

Nellie R. Peterson, of Albert Lea, passed away May 25, 2004, at the Good Samaritan Center in Albert Lea. She was 93 years of age. Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Nellie was born April 25, 1911, in Albert Lea Township, to Ole and Gertrude (Bell) Boe. She was a graduate of Albert Lea High School and was employed at the Albert Lea Public Library prior to her marriage.

Nellie was united in marriage to Wm. (Bill) D. Peterson on April 9, 1932, in Minneapolis. They lived in Albert Lea most of their married life. Nellie was very active as a member of the First Lutheran Church, where she was a volunteer in many activities. She also was a 4-H leader and active in Home Extension Club as well as a volunteer at Naeve Hospital.

Nellie is survived by her children: Karen (Jack) Neale of Albert Lea, Wayne of Sitges, Spain, and New York, Susan (David) Olson of Albert Lea, and Allan (Lois) of Moraga, Calif. She enjoyed her eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Also surviving her is her sister-in-law, Helen (Ted) Peterson of Urbana, Ill.

Nellie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; and five brothers.

She was loved by many and will be sorely missed.

Memorials are preferred to Peace and Power at the First Lutheran Church, or the Good Samaritan Society.
