Funeral services for Evelyn G. Clancy, age 78, of Albert Lea will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 14, at the Church of St. Theodore, Albert Lea. The Rev. Robert Schneider will officiate. Burial will be in St. Theodore’s Cemetery.
Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., and one hour prior to the services at the church.
Evie died Friday, June 11, 2004, at Seasons Hospice in Rochester.
Evelyn Grace Clancy was born July 30, 1925, to Henry and Anne (Lohaus) Uhlenkamp in Morgan. She graduated from Morgan High School and worked in Morgan for a short time. On April 20, 1946, Evie was united in marriage to Joseph L. Clancy in Morgan. She was a homemaker most of her life. The couple moved to Albert Lea in 1960 and Evie was employed at Andersen’s Fashions and the Fountain Lake Treatment Center where she later managed the Book Store. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and fishing, and especially the time spent with her family and friends. Evie was always willing to share her time and talents.
Survivors include her sons, Gary and his wife Nancy Clancy of Byron and Patrick of Waterloo, Iowa; eight grandchildren, Sean, Chad, Erin, Ryan and his wife Keele, Michelle, Kelli, Shane, and Katie; three great-grandchildren, Lexi, Devon and Lucas; very special friend, Bob Reichl of Albert Lea; siblings, Loretta Jenniges, Jeannie and her husband Blondie Blomeke, Jim and his wife Jan Uhlenkamp, and Nonnie and her husband Jim Andre; and brother-in-law, Dale Kopischke.
Evie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sons Michael and Jeffrey; and three sisters, Rosella, Bernice, and Viola.
