G-E Legion drops three in tourney

MINNESOTA LAKE &045; It was a rough tournament for the Glenville-Emmons American Legion baseball team, which dropped three games in Sunday’s Minnesota Lake Invitational.
In the opener, against the host team, G-E fell 8-3 as Minnesota Lake broke it open with a six-run third inning.
Devin Kaasa led the offense, going 3-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI. Michael Greibrok and Alex Hansen had G-E’s only other hits.
Hansen started on the mound and took the loss. Mike Yocom pitched in relief.
Game two was a 7-5 setback to United South Central.
Yocom was 2-for-4. Kaasa, Hansen, Josh Kluender and Josh Flattum added one hit each.
Kaasa pitched all six innings.
G-E managed just two hits &045; one each by Kluender and Nathan Cooper &045; in an 11-0 loss to Springfield.
Flattum and Yocom pitched, with Flattum absorbing the defeat.
The losses dropped G-E’s record to 1-6. The team faces New Richland at 7 tonight at Emmons.
