Funeral services for Mary Frances Amanda Waldo Lee will be held 1:30 p.m. Sunday, June 27, at the First Presbyterian Church of Albert Lea. The Rev. Dwight Netzer will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, and one hour prior to the service at the church. The burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Glenville.
Mary died Tuesday evening at St. John’s Lutheran Home in Albert Lea. She was 95 years of age.
Mary was born April 16, 1909, in Glenville, the daughter of Lilly and Ernest Waldo. She was united in marriage to Melvin Lee on New Year’s Eve, 1927. During World War II she worked at Land O’Lakes making powdered eggs for “the troops.”
Later she was employed by the Hotel Albert and Lea College.
She is survived by her daughter, Margaret (Harold) Frerichs and son, Duane (Marie) Lee. Also surviving are grandchildren: Vicky (Dan) Robson, Cathy (John) Haugerud, Larry (John) Lee, Sheryl (Kevin) Morgan, Ronald (Meg) Lee, Jerry (Denise) Lee, and Jim (Patty) Hove; 18 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lilly and Ernest Waldo; husband, Melvin Lee, in 1956; seven brothers: Edward, William, Bert, John, Henry, Richard and Fred; one sister, Lillian Shawback.
She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed. Blessed be her memory.
