Charles Chuck C. Wangen, 80, Hayward

Funeral services for Charles &uot;Chuck&uot; C. Wangen of Rural Hayward will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 12, 2004 at the Bonnerup Funeral Service Chapel. Pastor Kent Otterman will officiate. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 4 until 6 p.m. at the Bonnerup Funeral Service and one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Burial will be in the Oakland Midway Lutheran Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the Albert Lea Area Veterans Groups.
Mr. Wangen died Thursday at the Good Samaritan Center in Albert Lea. He was 80 years of age.
Chuck was born July 17, 1923 in Riceland Township, the son of
Charley and Ananda (Tufte) Wangen. He attended country school near Hayward. Chuck served his country as a private in the US Army.
Chuck was a resident of rural Hayward all of his life. He was employed in road construction first with Sorenson Brothers and then with Joyce Brothers Construction out of Rochester. He was a member of the Oakland Midway Lutheran Church, the Albert Lea American Legion, VFW and Moose Club. In his free time, Chuck was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Chuck is survived by his sister Margaret and her husband Robert Peterson of Albert Lea, brother in law Melvin Stoa of LaPorte, sister in law Miriam Wangen of Sargeant. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Dorothy Stoa and Velga Lunde, and brothers Wallace and Gordon Wangen.
